If cozy fall vibes are your jam, then Mabon is your celebration! This lovely Pagan holiday is the second of the three harvest celebrations. Mabon also marks the autumn equinox and is a beautiful time to give thanks for the abundance of mama earth and share blessings with others. Even in sunny California, around this time of year, I start to feel the call to turn inward, to return to simpler joys, to begin to slow from the boundless energy of summer. There are many lovely ways to welcome this time of year, and when done with intention, you can’t go wrong. A few suggestions include:

- Baking bread- consider adding seasonal herbs (chives, coriander, dill, oregano, rosemary) and dried fruit bits and nuts.
- Create a table centerpiece using fall foliage, including acorns, pinecones, dried leaves, bark, and berries. As you gather these items, thank mama earth for her bounty.
- Visit a local farmers market, notice the fruitful harvest, and pick up a few items you are called to.
- Build an evening fire and enjoy a seasonal beverage such as wheat beer, pumpkin spice tea/coffee, or warm cider.
- Host a potluck so everyone can contribute, and you can witness the joy of community and abundance. Before eating, ask everyone to reflect with gratitude on the past few months.
- Dry some orange slices to string together to create a festive garland. Cut thin slices of oranges and bake in the oven on a wire rack at 175F for 4-6hours. After oranges are cool you can sting them on wire or yarn. You can also garnish beverages, add flare to gift by tying one or two to a bow, or place on a charcuterie board for added beauty.
No matter what you choose to do, if done with loving intention, you can’t go wrong. I hope you decided to do something to mark this special time of year. Have a blessed Mabon.
