To set the stage for the new year, I decided to create a beautiful ritual and draw an oracle card, tarot card, and a crystal for each coming month. I felt into what cards would be of service and took the time to review my deck collection. I was instantly drawn to the sweet hopefulness and inclusivity of the Moon Deck- this was my choice for my oracle deck. I then considered what tarot deck would be the most insightful, and honestly, kind (I wasn’t seeking cut-throat insight) for this reading. I love the Lioness Oracle Tarot; the stunning images, clear guidance from the guide book, along with my intuitive connection to the deck, making this a perfect choice for this spread. Finally, I selected 12 of my favorite pocket crystals for each of the coming months in 2021.
Setting the Mood
Stealing some time to really feel into the experience was a challenge. With two kids, a husband, and the ongoing pandemic, alone time is simply not abundant. I was able to close my bedroom door and kindly asked everyone to give me some space to focus and enjoy the process- thankful my plea worked, and for that, I am grateful. I used palo santo to cleanse my decks, the crystals, myself, and the space. I also cleansed 4 Shungite pyramids to anchor the reading, you can use any grounding stone including black Tourmaline. I then lit a few candles and sat quietly in meditation, grounding and connecting to myself and the universal oneness. Breathing. Breathing. Breathing.
The Drawing
As I felt into each of the coming months, I asked the universe, “please provide me with insight so that I can learn, grow, and deepen my soul’s purpose. Please support me in my journey and collaborate with me in friendly learning.” I then drew 12 oracle cards, followed by 12 tarot cards. I placed each of the crystals in an occlusive bag and pulled one crystal at a time, placing each one lovingly on the oracle/tarot card bundles.

August- Queen of Pentacles, I craft my desires with certainty and ease, Sodalite
September- 9 of Wands, I welcome clear vision and inspired action, Lodalite
October- The Emperor, Movement awakens my creative spirit, Clear Quartz
November- 6 of Pentacles, I am on the right path and divinely guided, Pink Opal
December- 3 of Swords, I surrender to the power of prayer and devotion, Citrine
Finally, I set a mantra for the next few days, “I openly welcome in the wonder & magic of 2021.”
